The Iowa Trust Association was first started over
50 years ago with the purpose of providing information
and education regarding the trust industry to it's members. Additionally,
we attempt to keep our members informed regarding new and pending
legislation as well as rules and regulations from the
regulators at both the State and National level which could impact
trust services. In recent years we have also taken the initiative
to introduce significant legislation here in Iowa to cure
problems being experienced by our members.
We keep our members informed primarily through the
Newsletter or, if warranted, through special mailings
if there is a sense of urgency to the message. We also have a
number of committees available which our members can serve
on if it is in an area of special interest to them.
Currently, we offer two major programs/seminars
for our members each year with one occurring in conjunction with
our Annual Meeting in the Fall and the other offered in May of
each year as a part of the MOKAN conference held in Kansas City,
MO.
The Association has also engaged a nationally respected
attorney to prepare an Iowa Will and Trust forms manual
which is sold at a discount to Association members, many of whom
make them available to attorneys in their community.
We also jointly sponsor The Trust School in
conjunction with the Kansas and Nebraska Trust Associations which
is designed primarily for new personnel to the trust industry.
It offers an excellent overview of the trust industry and we have
received many fine compliments about the School.
We also have a website (www.iatrust.com)
which contains many important items about the trust association
and we encourage our members to check often with our site for
new and important developments. You may also contact us by e-mail

and provide a hotlink to your site along with your e-mail address.
As a member of the Association, many of our programs
and services are offered to members at a reduced rate which
allows your membership to pay for itself if you utilize
any of the benefits.
